Planning Your Fitness Routine

Fitness

Do you have a fitness goal in mind, but aren’t quite sure how to get started or if you are on the right track? You are not alone! This is a common concern we hear from members, questioning what classes they should be attending and how often in order to achieve their goals. Common fitness goals we hear include weight loss, strength gains, regaining fitness after a period of no exercise, and preparing for running events, such as a half marathon. Once we can understand your goal, whatever it may be, we can work on the plan to get you there.

Laying out the blueprint: Target. Perform. Achieve.

The first and arguably most important step towards your goal is devising the plan. This forms the target component of our motto Target.Perform.Achieve. Here at Evado, we sit down with members in a free 15-minute 1-on-1 session to go through exercise and injury history, as well as establishing both short and long term goals. This assists us in developing an achievable weekly training schedule, and booking appropriate classes and personal training sessions needed to reach these goals. Developing an action plan helps with motivation and gives you the confidence needed to commit towards the process of achieving your set goals.

Attached below are two sample well-balanced training plans for two different goals: weight loss & half marathon training. Note that weekly progression may be required.

Time to perform

Once the goals have been established and the plan is outlined, it is time to perform and then achieve. There will be barriers along the way, but having confidence in your weekly routine, support from those around you, and the satisfaction from reaching those weekly goals will keep the motivation flowing.

If you are struggling with motivation or having trouble reaching your goals, book in a free 15-minute 1-on-1 appointment with one of our Personal Trainers to set the strategy best suited for you. No matter what your goal is, developing and outlining a plan will be the key to success!
