Congratulations to all our participants in the 8 Week Transformation Challenge; our biggest inter-studio challenge yet with a prize pool of $2,000 cash!
There were some amazing results across the participating studios - Hawthorn, Point Cook, Thornbury & Nelson Bay - making it very difficult to pick our winners. The main purpose of this challenge was to see our clients make a commitment towards a goal and then take the proper steps needed to achieve it. It’s never easy making significant fitness or lifestyle changes, which is why all our participants have done such an outstanding job.
A big credit to all of our Personal Trainers, Nutritionist, Bec Stone, and Dietician, Alice Mika for their continuous support and action plans to help all our clients reach their goals. A special mention also to all our clients who battled through multiple lockdowns over the challenge. They all kept following their nutrition plans, training hard and pushing to meet their challenge goals.
1st place & winner of $1,200: Tracey C (Thornbury, with trainer Julia Veliou)
Tracey made outstanding improvements while managing chronic fatigue and inflammation - which is no small feat. She had a weekly attendance of 5 sessions per week through the entire challenge and took the extra steps in managing her fatigue with proper nutrition and extra focus on recovery. Her main goal was to improve her fitness with a consistent schedule that would allow her to manage her chronic fatigue.
Tracey saw fantastic improvements in strength and endurance, smashing her initial testing measures. A big increase in her upper body strength was shown with her push-up and inverted row improvements, and her endurance skyrocketed with her 1km bike test going from 4:25 to 3:07.
2nd place & winner of $500: Anthony A (Hawthorn, with trainer Mitch Stewart)
Anthony lost an incredible 9.7kg over the challenge (his original goal was 8kg), had a consistent weekly attendance of 4 sessions a week and completed additional mobility and aerobic sessions on his days outside the gym.
Anthony has a history of lower back pain so his sessions were focused around increasing strength and improving mobility. He made significant improvements on all of his testing measures, most notably his pushups which was an area of focus.
3rd place & winner of $300: Kerrie J (Nelson Bay, with trainer Lucy Birss)
Kerrie had an outstanding challenge and showed great commitment and consistency. Kerrie has a physically demanding job and a very busy work schedule during the challenge but stuck diligently with her nutrition plan and fitness schedule.
Kerrie’s goals included increasing strength and balance which showed tremendous improvement over the 8 weeks. Her push-ups, plank duration and single leg balance more than doubled over the length of the challenge!
