Myotherapists are qualified to apply care in the preventative, corrective and rehabilitative phases of therapy in order to restore and maintain the normal and pain free function of the soft tissue structure (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia) of the human body. They are concerned with the individual as a whole, carefully taking into consideration environmental, emotional and/or biomechanical factors that are large contributors to one’s symptoms. Although Myotherapy predominately works to address soft tissue dysfunction or injury, our Myotherapist is trained to mobilise and restore function of the joints and skeletal structures.

Treatment Techniques

Your Myotherapist may employ some of the following modalities to effectively work in addressing pain and restrictions;

  • Massage (deep, remedial and/or light myofascial release)
  • Trigger Point Therapy
  • Dry Needling (using fine needles in specifically isolated areas)
  • Cupping
  • Myofascial stretching
  • Joint mobilization and Muscle Energy Technique (MET)

Can I claim Myotherapy on my private health insurance?

Evado Studios has the convenience of HiCaps facilities for easy, on the spot claiming. It is important that you contact your Private Health Insurer to determine if you are covered for Myotherapy services, noting that some funds may rebate only for Remedial Massage, which in any case our therapists are recognised under both categories.
